LCY (DJ)

They/them
Saturday 13 May — Garage Noord

The past, present and future of UK-influenced electronic music dissolves into each other, with LCY blurring the boundaries between different musical styles and storytelling. The London-based producer, DJ and visual artist from Bristol operates between dancefloor-oriented sets, sonic worldbuilding and experimental ambient releases with elements creeping in from a wide variety of music worlds; from classical music to a hybrid mixture of genres such as grime and jungle, resulting in sonic narrations full of sharp-breaks, rough-percussion and experimental synths. Formerly known as LUCY, LCY uses these different fragments, utilizing them from their original genres and rhythms creating new contemporary genres and stories. Garage Noord will be the perfect setting for a set infused with UK club sound and unexpected sonic avenues.

In 2019, LCY started the platform and label SZNS7N, having an artistic focus on creative collaboration. They came into the spotlight through several sets and releases, but gained international acclaim for Pulling Teeth (2021); a conceptual release about a dystopian post-human world of Ériu inspired by traditional Irish lore, fantasy soundscapes, and the books of Mary Shelley. With the brand new EP /Y\ (2023) they continue to craft new realities inspired by storytelling, literature and fantasy to re-conceptualisation of the genesis story.

The Club Night is included in the FIBER Festival 2023 Passe-partout. Separate Club Night Tickets will go on sale later via Garage Noord.
