M I M I (Maria Muehombo) is a multitalented artist and DJ based in Brussels. Within her work she explores the boundaries between the natural world and the human being, focusing on the impact of the anthropocene. In addition to her artistic expression, she recognizes the healing power of sound to connect more with nature. Inspired by her African heritage, she combines classical music and club music, resulting in experimental soundscapes, driving percussions & bouncing rhythms.
Born in Lusaka, Maria arrived in Belgium at a young age. Since then she made a name for herself in the Belgian nightlife scene, as well as performing internationally on esteemed platforms such as NTS Radio, Red Light Radio, Boiler Room(BCN), Electrafrik(Dakar), Nyege Nyege(UG) and most recently Eurosonic(NL).
M I M I will perform and speak at FIBER Festival with the support of de Brakke Grond.
