FIBER x Oedipus Brewing: Vibrant Sounds

2 x free early evenings | Fri 12 + Sat 13 May

We have one final programme surprise for you all. Actually two! Today we are launching two free early evening festival programmes in collaboration with Oedipus Brewing. On Friday afternoon (17:00-21:00) and Saturday early evening (19:00-23:00), the doors of the Oedipus Brewing Taproom (Noord) will open to vibrant sounds, colourful beers and delicious food. Stop by on Friday for DJ sets by Castle and Loradeniz, and on Saturday for the special performance Pound It! (20.30) and DJ sets by pyruvicac.id and BertBert. Everyone is invited. For festival visitors, the taproom is next to our night venues. See you there, bring your friends!

Friday May 12 | 17:00 - 21:00

A network drink for everyone interested in the FIBER Festival and Oedipus Brewing with music, cold beers and the possibility to level up your energy with some Banzai Fries. We have invited two DJ’s to create the perfect bridge between the afternoon and the long night ahead. Drop by after work for Castle (DJ) and Loradeniz (DJ)

Castle's sets, productions and performances are all built around a singular theme: “Being thrown into a world". He focuses on presenting his audience to alternative narratives with an ideological basis, based on versatile forms of sound collage which sometimes trigger psychotic ecstasy.

Loradeniz is an Istanbul-born and Amsterdam-based composer and DJ. In her sets, she uses immersive soundscapes that blur the line between light and dark, hope and despair, past and future.

Saturday May 13 | 19:00 - 23:00

Opening the Saturday is pyruvicac.id (DJ), often described as an enigma with a dada-esque punk-like attitude; Someone who refuses to coalesce into a definable form. As allround artist the focus is always both political and philosophical. Previously known as ‘my name is not mata’, the artist has participated in the Ultravirus dr33mphaz3r.net project. We are excited to invite her to the taproom.

Join us at 20.30 for a special performance Pound It! by Kexin Hao, Rachwill Breideland and Tingyi Jiang in which the pounding movements in the traditional production of sticky rice cake becomes an experimental percussion instrument. The performance brings out a catering service and a clubbing experience. Come taste!

Pound It! by Kexin Hao, Rachwill Breideland and Tingyi Jiang. Developed during Summer Session residency 2022, supported by V2_Lab for the Unstable Media

We close the event at Oedipus Brewing in style with BertBert (DJ); someone who fuses his avid vinyl and mp3 collecting with a mode of juxtaposing music from every corner in the “experimental” electronic music spectrum. Having worked for eight years as head of festival and label for Amsterdam crew Dekmantel he has experienced a lot of vibes. In 2023, his own label will see the light of day.
