FIBER Festival 2023: Programme almost complete!

The Dust (2021), Tianzhuo Chen

With one month to go until the 8th edition of FIBER Festival, we share a (nearly) final update about new performing artists and speakers. Including all the nine artists of our festival exhibition!

Our exhibition includes nine works by international artists and emerging makers in collaboration with Door Open Space. The exhibition will be spread over 3000 m2 in this new culture hub on the NDSM site in Amsterdam Noord. The works offer new perspectives on our (in)ability to sense and understand our contemporary living environments, by using different acts of listening, music, sound, sonic speculation, and magical world-building as inspiring and critical media. Exhibition opening: Wednesday May 10 (Free entry!)

Exhibition artists: Christine Hvidt (DK/NL) | Erik Peters (NL) | Félix Luque Sanchez (BE) | Jan Christian Schulz (DE/NL) | Josèfa Ntjam (FR) | Myles Merckel (UK/NL) | Ralf Baecker (DE) | Sébastien Robert (FR/NL) | Tianzhuo Chen (CN).

We also added Noordwaards-opener Aimée Theriot-Ramos (Live) and Know V.A. (DJ), who will bring their hard-dance transmutations to the dancefloor of Garage Noord. M I M I will open the symposium with a listening performance. Emile Frankel (remote) and Wassim Z. Alsindi joined the Sunday symposium, focussing on contemporary developments in machine listening and decentralized organizing. Sophia Bulgakova & Leon Scarin join the Audiovisual Art Assembly.
