FIBER x Entrée kick-off FIBER Festival: Fragments at Het Concertgebouw

On Thursday 11 May, Entrée and FIBER Festival present an evening concert with adventurous crossovers between the world of classical sounds and spherical electronic music. The Concertgebouw's Recital Hall will be the stage for three female composers and performers. The focus of the evening is on their interdisciplinary compositions in which they merge arrangements and enrichments of acoustic instruments or vocals with technological expression. For one, the cello is the starting point, while the other works with software instruments, modular synths, tape loops or the power of the human voice. Meander through three different sound worlds made up of feminine frequencies.

The programme includes musician and composer Perila, emerging sound designer and performer Alliyah Enyo and composer and cellist Aleksandra Słyż. Starting from different traditions and perspectives, the evening will be a journey through mystical, sensual and drone-like soundscapes. For this evening a few special collaborations between the musicians will be on show for the first time in Amsterdam. Aleksandra Słyż plays together with Judith Hamann and Gerard Lebik. Alliyah Enyo is looking to collaborate with a local musician on this occasion.

After a first collaboration within the 4DSOUND event Aural Spaces event at the end of 2022, Entrée and FIBER Festival join forces again to provide space for contemporary music developments emerging at the intersection of classical, electro-acoustic music and electronic sounds. Fully in line with the FIBER Festival theme Fragments, the evening will bring together different sounds, frequencies, temporal experiences and contexts.
